- Remote-head key / flip keyCombines the mechanical key with lock/unlock buttons. Slightly more involved programming, common on mid-2000s through early 2010s vehicles.
- Smart key / proximity fob (push-to-start)No insertion required — the car detects the fob nearby. Most expensive and takes the longest to program, but still much cheaper than the dealer route.
How a replacement appointment runs
- You send the year, make, and model. Ideally a photo of an old key if you have one. We confirm the exact key type and quote a flat price.
- You schedule a time. We bring the blank, the cutter, and the programming tools.
- On-site we verify ownership (driver's license + vehicle registration), cut the key, and program it to your car's onboard system.
- We test it — start the car, lock and unlock from the fob, check all functions. You pay only after everything works.
