Car Key & Fob Programming in Orlando, FL

Modern cars don't just need a cut blank — the key has to be electronically introduced to the vehicle's computer before it will actually start the car or operate the locks. That step is what "programming" means. Artem's Keys programs transponder chips, remote keys, and push-to-start smart fobs for most makes, on-site, anywhere in Greater Orlando.

What programming actually does

Every transponder, remote, or smart key has a unique electronic ID. Your car's immobilizer module keeps a list of approved IDs and refuses to start unless one of them is nearby. Programming is the process of adding a new key's ID to that list (or, for "all keys lost," clearing the list and writing a fresh one).

Common reasons people need just programming — without cutting a new blank — include a newly purchased aftermarket fob, a replacement battery that wiped the pairing on some models, or a fob from a previous vehicle that fits a new car of the same make.

Key types we program

  • Transponder chips (head-of-key chip)
  • Remote-head and flip keys with buttons
  • Smart / proximity fobs (push-to-start)
  • Replacement fobs from dealer or aftermarket
  • Re-programming after battery replacement on certain models

A real alternative to the dealer

Dealerships have programming machines too — they just charge full retail for it, on top of the price of the key, and usually want you to tow the car in (which is impossible if it won't start because the key isn't paired yet). A mobile auto locksmith does the identical work with the same kind of diagnostic interface, comes to where the car already is, and typically costs less.

If you only need the programming step (you already have the fob), tell us that — it's a separate, lower-cost service than full cut-and-program replacement.

Why Artem's Keys for programming

  • Modern equipmentProgramming tools that cover most current vehicle platforms — domestic, Asian, and European brands.
  • Done at the carThe vehicle has to be on-hand for programming. We come to it, which avoids a tow when the car won't start.
  • Honest about what worksNot every aftermarket fob is worth your time. If what you bought won't pair reliably, we'll say so before you waste the appointment.
